Transfer students are encouraged to get involved on campus through the PICK ONE! initiative. PICK ONE! began at the University of Iowa in 2007, and strongly encourages students to become active in one co-curricular, outside the classroom activity. On campus activities within the PICK ONE! initiative include:
- Academic/Honors Opportunities
- Campus Employment
- Fraternities & Sororities
- Intramurals & Sport Clubs
- Leadership Opportunities
- Multicultural Activities
- Performing Arts
- Student Organizations
Why get involved on campus?
Why not? Involved students feel more connected to the University of Iowa campus community during their time at Iowa. They also meet more people and build lasting friendships. Finally, students who are involved in extra-curricular activities during their time at the University learn teamwork and leadership skills, develop better time management skills, build strong resumes, and have fun!
